Mello, a native of St. Croix, US Virgin Islands has played the steel drum since the age of eight in a variety of venues. Whether a private party or a public event, his diverse repertoire and versatility has kept him in demand for performances since opening Mello Vibes Entertainment in 2003. In 2008, Mello Vibes released his debut album "Feelin' the Vibes, " and he is currently working on a follow up album. His style reflects the flavor of the Caribbean, keeping his clientele fascinated and yearning for more. His main selections of music consist of soca, calypso, dancehall, reggae, soft rock, smooth jazz, and rhythm & blues. Some of his best musical selections include, but are not limited to, "Three Little Birds, " "Margaritaville", "Red Red Wine", "Breezin", and "Don't Worry Be Happy". Mello was awarded second place in the 2006 Tampa Bay Idol Competition and performs annually at station 88.5's Caribbean Festival. Local venues where he performs includes Bahama Breeze, The Don Caesar Hotel, Florida Aquarium, Blue Smoke Island Grill, Skipper Smokehouse, and Hilton Hotels just to name a few. He has also performed for former Tampa Mayor Dick Greco and former General Tommy Franks at Macdill Air Force Base, St. Josephs Hospital children event, and local charity events benefiting the sick and underprivileged.
Mello has performed with such bands as Pan Connection Steel Symphony, Ken "Professor" Philmore, steel-drummer/arranger Michael Belgrave, and Caribbean Experience. His expansive performing background and exquisite musicianship prompted him to start Mello Vibes Entertainment to share the harmonious grooves of steel drum music.
